Secto Services currently have exciting opportunities for experienced Subducting and Cabling Technician to join our team. This opportunity is primarily Leinster based, with occasional travel required.
Job Purpose
To carry out sub-ducting, cabling and blown fibre installations on fixed line and wireless projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Installation of sub-ducting and cable in new and congested duct networks.
- Ability to rod, rope and test ducts in new and congested duct networks.
- Locating, identifying, and marking of blockages for civils crews.
- Installation of blown fibre, using blowing fibre technologies.
- Ability to follow design drawings and schematics.
- Carry out traffic management at each site, as required.
- Work alongside splicing teams daily.
- Liaise with manager’s daily.
- Escalate issues appropriately to ensure timely close out.
- Ability to maintain records of daily work logs, data recordings, and network design maps.
- Ability to operate communications devices and company vehicles in accordance with company policies.
- Carry out ad-hoc duties as requested by your manager.
- Carry out your duties to meet Secto Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements at all times.
- Work with colleagues to ensure work is delivered on time and to specification.
Requirements
- While no educational level is specified for the role, it is expected that the applicant would have attended full time education for an acceptable period.
- Experience in working on FTTx projects.
- Experience on blown fibre technologies preferable.
- Flexibility around travel is desirable.
- Strong team working ethos.
- Very good English language skills, both written and verbal.
- Presentable appearance.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a telecom’s technician role
- Team player with proven ability to liaise and communicate with client reps on site.
All technicians must have: -
- Safe Pass (valid and in date) or CSR (Northern Ireland).
- Manual Handling (valid and in date).
- Signing Lighting and Guarding at the roadside, SLG, (valid and in date).
- Full, clean drivers licence, BE Category.
- Working at Height Training (preferable)
