Tactical Manager
Volkswagen Passenger Cars are currently seeking a Tactical Manager to join the Volkswagen Ireland sales team. Reporting to the Head of Sales, the tactical manager is responsible for the design, development, management, and implementation of sales promotion and incentive campaigns. The Tactical Manager’s objective is to ensure that sales targets are hit as profitably as possible.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for collection of all internal and external intelligence relating to the Retail Programs and Incentive programs. Analysing and interpreting external competitive data, pricing trends and indexing to create compelling business cases in support of sales.
- In conjunction with Sales Planning and Finance, develop an annual incentive strategy identifying required programs along with budget requirements.
- Forecast, manage and track Brand tactical budgets in coordination with relevant departments (Sales, Product & Planning, Finance)
- Act as the guardian of the Tactical budget within selected sales channel to ensure the spend is used most effectively
- Interface with VWFS to strategize and develop retail and lease products, programs, and promotions. Support negotiation of subvention requirements to optimise program spending.
- Ensure effective communication of all retail programs to the dealer network and ensure solid customer communication through integrated activities with marketing via Volkswagen.ie and alternative media outlets.
- Provide incentive input for future products and proposals & support efforts of Sales & Product to ensure a proper market orientated mix at new vehicle launch adheres with initial incentive strategy.
- Manage in a timely, efficient and accurate manner all brand Retailer margin payments
- Responsibility for market assessment and evaluation of brand residual value development
- Serve as an Industry Expert, with in-depth knowledge of the competitive environment, products, programs, positioning, and sales strategies.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant third level degree and experience.
- Exceptional commercial acumen and awareness
- Strong influencing skills with good interpersonal skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Minimum 5 years post graduate experience
- Previous experience in a Planning or Sales role necessary
